Title:New icon/tool dock with a lot of features/visual effects
Synopsis:
New icon/tool dock with a lot of features/visual effects

Project members:
Status:Closed
Priority:Low      As prioritized by the OS4 development team
Category:workbench/general
Description:There's three programs: BenchBar main program, BenchbarPrefs and BenchbarNotifier. Any other programs or libraries are not needed other than standard libraries coming with every AmigaOS default installation. A user can use BenchbarPrefs to add tools to docks and create new docks. The user can make these docks to open on any public screen. These docks are Workbench Appwindows so the user can drop objects on them. Or the user can just click any of them to open the clicked tool. The only "fancy" feature currently is the user can make any of the docks auto-hidden. There's a commodity called BenchbarNotifier which checks if mouse pointer is touching borders of a screen and sends a message to the BenchBar main program to unhide a dock panel located on that border. It will be hidden again after predefined time period.

The idea is any other interested people can add all other kind of features into the BenchBar like Mac-like effects. I don't have any other suggestions myself. I hope this will become a "Rocket dock" of Amiga someday.
