Using several clips whereas there are several units seems to be the same...
I think the clipboard.device should be enhanced to allow an unlimited number of units/clips. A new project maybe.

The clip program should display the content of the clips (if possible) like the beginning of the copied text or a thunbnail of the copied picture.

Hello, I might have misunderstood you so ignore this if I did. Using units instead of a new queue for remembering old clips requires that both applications and the OS has to implement the history function that uses more units. Whereas this project is about creating a functionality that works without doing anything different in the applications and OS c&p functions.

The clip program should display the content of the clips (if possible) like the beginning of the copied text or a thunbnail of the copied picture.

Yepp, that would be neat :) And a function to send the text, image or audio to multiview for example.

But there is Clipmanager
http://www.a500.org/index.php?s=projects&f=clipmanager.readme

I think that this program is like the one you describe here

@walkero

No not at all, the clipmanager only allows you to see what's in the clipboard at the moment. It's not a tool for adding clip history to the clipboard system. Read the project description.

And even if it did it's not open source and the source is partially lost. If salass00 had the source and was interested in submitting it to Open Amiga then that would be great. But as said above, it does not have the main functionality that this project is outlining.
